“A Warm Taste of Home in Just 5 Minutes” – Hanok Village Bibimbap Launches Frozen Bibimbap
Hanok Village Bibimbap & Sotbap, which began in 1976 in Jeonju Hanok Village, has unveiled a new Frozen Bibimbap that carries forward half a century of Korea’s home-cooked food tradition.
The product is designed to be more than just a convenient meal to fill one’s stomach. It aims to offer comfort and warmth in the middle of a busy day. Whether it’s a quick yet satisfying dinner after a late night at work, or a moment abroad when the taste of Korea is missed, Hanok Village Frozen Bibimbap is intended to deliver the feeling of “a homemade meal in a bowl.”
The recipe highlights health as well as tradition, featuring a plant-based soybean protein gochujang. By substituting meat with soybean protein, the dish is lighter while still preserving the rich, deep flavor of Jeonju’s long-cultivated gochujang. This combination reduces heaviness, enhances nutrition, and reflects global trends in vegetarian and wellness-focused dining, making it a meal that can be enjoyed with confidence by a wide range of consumers.
Hanok Village Bibimbap is also strengthening its global presence with the launch of the frozen product. In December 2025, it will open at Glenview Food Court in Chicago, followed by entry into Philadelphia’s ASSI Market in February 2026. Exports to Vancouver, Canada, are already underway, broadening the reach of the brand across North America.
A company representative said, “We want to bring the spirit of a homemade Korean meal to dining tables around the world. This is not just a convenient product, but a symbol of warmth and nourishment for both body and soul.”
