Global K-Foodie Signs MOU with OKTA Seattle Chapter

The Global K-Foodie Council (led by Director Na Deuk-gyun and Secretary General Kim Jeong-deok), which supports the globalization of Korean food and the overseas expansion of food franchise brands, announced on the 5th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Seattle Chapter of the World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations (OKTA, hereafter referred to as World-OKTA), represented by Chapter President Kim Pil-jae.

Global K-Foodie is an organization that promotes and supports the international expansion of Korean franchise businesses. Attending this agreement ceremony were key franchise representatives, including Kim Hyun-ki, CEO of Hanok Village Bibimbap & Sotbap; Jung Heung-soon, CEO of Sinuiju Glutinous Rice Sundae; Park Young-bok, CEO of Seonbi Kkomakimbap; Shin Young-seok, CEO of House Cook; Ko Young-ho, CEO of Mikado Sushi; Kim Cheol-yoon, Chairman of Fun Beer King; and Kim Sang-woo, CEO of GD&Co.

Director Na Deuk-gyun expressed, “We are delighted to take part in laying the groundwork for Korean franchises to enter the U.S. market,” and added, “With a focus on leading Korean franchise brands, we expect this to be a turning point for the growth of both K-Food and K-Franchises.”
